JDRF, Diabetes UK, Leeds Children’s Hospital and The Children and Young People’s National Network are delighted to support the development of this fantastic training platform for schools and the wider community. This platform has been developed to provide primary and secondary school teachers and staff with the knowledge they need to safely support the children and young people in their care who are living with Type 1 diabetes.

We were particularly keen to ensure the inclusion of detailed learning around the emotional impact of living with Type 1 diabetes, the practicalities of managing food and a comprehensive understanding of the different types of diabetes technology now being used to manage Type 1 diabetes.

Our hope is that this training should be completed by anyone who spends time with children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes in a school environment.
